Choice for Wine Drinkers!

wineglass

Greg Mulholland MP launched a national campaign to give wine drinkers the choice of sizes of wine measures in pubs. Over recent years, to make more profit, many companies have phased out traditional 125 ml glasses of wine and only offer larger sizes so Greg introduced a Wine Glass Measures Bill in Parliament calling for the Government to amend weights and measures legislation to oblige bars, pubs and restaurants to offer 125 ml measures.

The bill and campaign have been supported by consumer and health organisations including The Good Pub Guide, Which? and Tacade and also MPs from all parties including GP Dr Howard Stoate, MP for Dartford.

Following the announcement that the Government were planning to introduce this, Greg withdrew the second reading of his bill and said he will work with the Government and in Parliament the Home Secretary agreed to meet with Greg to discuss this.
