Greg Presents his Letter of Protest Alongside Fellow Protestors and Members of the Press

Local MP and Real Ale champion Greg Mulholland presented a letter of protest at the gates of the Tetley's brewery on Friday, slamming plans by Carlsberg UK to close the famous Leeds landmark.

Greg was joined by members of the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) who are particularly concerned that the production of Tetley's Cask Ales will be moved from Leeds. Greg and members of Camra were seen to pour a can of Carlsberg down the drain as a further sign of protest.

Commenting Mulholland said:

"Tetley's is a Leeds brand and if the beer is being brewed elsewhere, without using Leeds water then the product simply ceases to be Tetley's.

"I have been fighting hard alongside other campaigners to keep the brewery open it seems that Carlsberg have been deaf to these protests, perhaps now they will listen.

"A lot of people stand to loose their jobs and I certainly don't intend to let Carlsberg just walk away from Leeds without a fight."

Ends.
