Enid's Long Ordeal Now Hopefully at an End

12.00.00am GMT Fri 5th Feb 2010

Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West has expressed his delight at the news that Enid Ruhango, an asylum seeker from Uganda, whom Mr Mulholland has represented for a number of years, has finally been granted indefinite leave to remain in the United Kingdom.

Enid has lived in this country for several years having fled terrible conditions in her own country and will doubtless be very relieved to have finally been granted permission to remain.

Commenting Greg said:

"This decision by the UK Border and Immigration Agency and Immigration Minister Phil Woolas marks the end in a very traumatic chapter in Enid's life.

"I would like to offer my warmest congratulations to her and also her supporters and friends who I and her legal team have had the great privilege of working alongside over the past few years.

"I am sure that everyone will join with me in wishing Enid all the best for her new life in Britain, in a community in which she is already an important and integral part."
