Lansley donations expose Tory conflict of interest on NHS - Mulholland

2.03.00pm GMT Mon 18th Jan 2010

Commenting on reports that Andrew Lansley, the Conservative health spokesperson, is being bankrolled by the head of one of the biggest private health providers to the NHS, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Spokesperson, Greg Mulholland said:

"This completely undermines the Tories election campaign which began with high minded promises on the future of the NHS.

"The fact that their chief spokesperson accepted donations from a private health company represents an embarrassingly staggering conflict of interests."

"This highlights the comparison between the Conservatives who are being bankrolled by private business and Labour who are in the pockets of the unions, only the Liberal Democrats can be trusted to be open and honest in their approach to the NHS."
