Mulholland remembers brave constituents

10.27.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 8th Oct 2009

Local MP Greg Mulholland spoke of his admiration for the brave men and women currently serving the country in Afghanistan as well as those who had fallen in past campaigns when attending a Remembrance Day service at Pool Methodist church.

The service moved on to the cenotaph upon which the name of a local man, Matthew Cornish who died whilst serving in Iraq had recently been added.

Greg commented:

"It is very humbling to think of the sacrifices these brave young men and women have made on our behalf.

"A Remembrance Day service such as this offers everyone the opportunity to reflect upon how much we owe our troops.

I have written to Mr Cornish's family to express my sorrow for their loss at what must be a particularly poignant time of year for them."
