MULHOLLAND READY TO WELCOME EASTWOOD TO LEEDS
4.14.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 13th Aug 2009
Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West is today celebrating a successful end to the most protracted rugby transfer saga of the summer.
Greg Eastwood has finally been granted a visa to come and play for Leeds Rhinos thanks to a huge effort by the club themselves and representations made on behalf of the player by Mr Mulholland.
Mr Mulholland commented:
"I am delighted that Greg has been granted an ancestry visa to come and play for Leeds Rhinos.
He is a vital asset to the club and to Leeds as a whole having previously won a world cup; he will bring a wealth of experience of competing at the highest level with him.
It was not easy securing a visa for Greg, but he is a very positive role model for young fans of the club and in the end I think that is what matters. I Iook forward to seeing him wearing the Rhinos shirt with pride very soon."
