7.25.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Thu 25th Jun 2009

Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West today quizzed the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for International Development Michael Foster about Government aid to North West Pakistan.

Mr Mulholland yesterday highlighted the importance of ensuring the aid given to this region reached those most in need.

Commenting, Greg said;

"The Aid to this region is enormously important from both a humanitarian and a political perspective.

The Government faces a huge challenging in ensuring aid reaches the more remote tribal areas in North West Pakistan and more must be done to ensure that the money does not end up in the hands of the oppressive Taliban regime."
