END OF LIFE STRATEGY A WELCOME START - MULHOLLAND3.02.00am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 17th Jul 2008 Greg Mulholland MP, Older People's Spokesperson for the Liberal Democrats, has called the Government's End of Life Strategy a 'welcome start'. Mr Mulholland clashed with Minister Ivan Lewis over End of Life Care earlier in the year during a heated Parliamentary debate. Commenting Greg said: "End of life care is an issue which is all too often marginalised and ignored, so I am glad that the Government has finally listened to the concerns which have been raised across the board, and responded. "There is much to welcome in today's strategy, particularly increased investment in end of life care. It is a welcome start. "What we need now is the Government to continue to demonstrate that it is committed to addressing this issue, and not allow it to slide off the political agenda." ENDS
