LOCAL MP SLAMS LEEDS GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL AFTER PUBLIC MEETING NO SHOW12.07.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 8th Aug 2008 Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West today slammed Leeds Girls High School after they failed to turn up to a public meeting to discuss their plans for the old school site. Greg who attended the meeting said "It is very disappointing that the school didn't send a representative to the meeting. This was their chance to put their plans forward and seriously engage with the community, unfortunately they chose not to." Leeds City Council have offered to buy the schools playing field and commenting on this Greg said: "The area is crying out for a community playing field that local schools and residents can use. I hope the school will accept the councils offer and let the playing fields be used for the benefit of the people of Headingley."
