MULHOLLAND CONGRATULATES OTLEY BUTCHERS ON THEIR AWARD WINNING PIES

Otley MP Greg Mulholland paid tribute to local butchers Middlemisses for their pork pies that were crowned as some of the best in the country.

Greg was joined by Otley's mayor Jim Spencer in presenting the butchers with an award from the British Pig executive for excellence in British meat products.

Greg said "It's great that Middlemiss have been recognised for their Pork Pies which I can testify personally are absolutely fantastic, so I was delighted to be able to present this award to them."

Middlemiss butchers are renowned for their pies across the country and they were crowned regional champions early in the year. Although they didn't win the Pie of the year they did make it to the final in London recently. The award they received today was for reaching the final.

Town Mayor Jim Spencer added "Middlemiss is a great local butcher and I would really recommend local people go along and try one of their prize pies."
