COMMUNITY MEET TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF LEEDS GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Mon 12th May 2008

Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, joined local residents for a community consultation on the Leeds Girls' High school site, at Headingley Methodist Church Hall on Saturday.

The consultation, organised by the Leeds Girls' High School Action Group, sought the views of the local community concerning proposals to redevelop the site following the merger with Leeds Grammar School taking place in September.

Commenting Mr Mulholland said

"This was an important and well organised event for the local community to come together and have their say about what they would like to see at this important site.

"Reaction to the consultation was positive, and I hope that this will now provide a building block upon which the Grammar School and the community can work together, to find a solution which will be to the benefit of everyone."
