LEEDS MP TO INTRODUCE AWARD WINNING12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Thu 31st Jan 2008 Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West will be hosting an internationally renowned play about the Holocaust this Friday at a Leeds School. It will be the first time the play has been performed in the city and in attendance at Ralph Thoresby High School will be Auschwitz survivor Eva Schloss, who is also Anne Frank's step sister. 'And they came for me - the world of Anne Frank' is been performed by the Blue Sky network as part of Holocaust Memorial week. The play follows the story of Eva Schloss and her family during the Holocaust and is performed by a multi-racial cast. The play aims to promote intolerance of racial hatred. Commenting, Greg said: "It is vital that we never forget the terrible events that happened over sixty years ago. "As a teenager I visited Auschwitz and it left a huge impression upon me. This is why I am so delighted to introduce this play and to welcome Eva Schloss to our area."` The founder of the Blue Sky Network, Nic Careem, commented: "The Holocaust was the greatest act of evil in history and we must always challenge hatred and prejudice wherever we find it. This play is a powerful tool in that mission." Greg added: "This is the first time the play has been performed in Leeds and I hope it will make a real impact with the students. "It is vital that they learn about the holocaust and its tragic legacy, so that such events are never seen again in the modern world."
