4.20.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 9th Nov 2007

Greg Mulholland MP for Leeds North West recently awarded a veterans badge to Mr Trevor Ravenhill of Meanwood. The veterans badge is to signify anyone who has served as part of the armed forces.

Mr Ravenhill who was a member of the services in the 1950's received his badge at special presentation ceremony at Greg's office in Holt Park Leeds. Also in attendance was Mr Jim Bill of the Royal British Legion.

Greg said "It's vital that we recognise the bravery and dedication of people who have served our country like Mr Ravenhill. The veterans badge which can be worn on the veterans lapel is a great way of doing this."

The veterans badge is open to anyone who was a member of the armed forces before 1992. Greg is appealing to any former serviceman or woman who would like a veterans badge to give his office a call. Greg said "I am more than happy to arrange for any former member of the armed forces to receive their badge so please do not hesitate to give my office a call."
