"Give Our Kids Somewhere to play!"

Earlier in the year Cllr Greg Mulholland, Lib Dem Spokesperson for Leeds North West, surveyed every house in the Holt Park area asking for people's concerns and one of the issues that came out was that there's nowhere for local kids to play so Councillor Mulholland is taking up the issue.

There is still the remains of a playground in the Holtdales, but the equipment was on a hard surface and there were a number of instances where children fell and hurt themselves. Parents complained but instead of putting in a soft surface to make it safe, the equipment was removed much to local people's anger!

Now Greg Mulholland has taken up the campaign and is asking for this to be rectified and has called upon the Council and the ALMO (Arms Length Management Organisation) to listen to residents calls.

Says Cllr Mulholland, "Why not provide for Holt Park the sort of facilities available on Woodhouse Moor, with soft landing and imaginative equipment? In Holt Park children just see NO BALL GAMES signs and no play areas and he adds, "A lack of facilities for local children often leads to boredom and mischief and there has at times been a problem with groups of youths hanging around the Holt Park Centre".

He concludes, "Too often Holt Park has not had the services it deserves and I will be campaigning to change that."
