MP HAILS LETTING BOARD DECISION AS A 'VICTORY FOR COMMON SENSE'

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 8th Jul 2005

Greg Mulholland, Member of Parliament for Leeds North West, has today hailed the report published by Leeds City Council on letting boards as a victory for common sense.

Commenting on the decision, Greg said:

"I'm delighted that the inspector has listened to the strong opinion of the local community. It's a victory for common sense and the local community.

"For far too long landlords in the Headingley area have exploited their position which has had a harmful effect on the area.

"It is only right to pay tribute to the community groups, councillors and others for their tireless campaigning on this issue despite continued resistance. This is a big step forward for Headingley."
