GOVT HAVE LET LEEDS DOWN AGAIN: MULHOLLAND
12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Wed 27th Jul 2005
Responding to news that the Department for Transport will be reviewing alternative options to the Leeds Supertram scheme over the Parliamentary summer recess Greg Mulholland, Member of Parliament for Leeds North West said:
"For goodness sake stop fobbing us off and gives a straight answer!
"A quality bus service will simply not get people out of their cars the way Supertram would.
"Eight years of Labour's transport policy has been a catalogue of timidity and inaction.
"The government continues to do nothing about congestions or pollution outside London. Once again they have demonstrated a clear lack of courage and vision.
"They have let Leeds down again."
