LEEDS MP NAMES CALF 'ANNICE'

Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, has named a calf born at Wrinklewood Farm in Leeds. Greg, on a visit to Wrinklewood Farm, was asked by farmer Jenny Clayton to name the calf. Greg chose to name the female calf 'Annice', after two interns working in his Westminster office, Anna and Alice.

Greg was visiting Wrinklewood Farm to discuss potential opportunities to diversify in order to achieve further financial income. Greg is currently looking into the issues facing farmers such as the financial hardship which many farmers are forced to bear.

Commenting, Greg said:

"I feel very pleased to have had this opportunity to name my first calf. There is a surprising amount of rural land surrounding the Leeds area. I hope this signals the first of many opportunities for me to get more involved with the farming community in Leeds North West."

"My constituency is so diverse, ranging from inner-city metropolitan areas in the South to many rural areas in the North. I am currently listening to the concerns of farmers in Leeds North West and looking at ways in which issues such financial hardship can be most successfully tackled. In order to achieve this aim, I will be writing to farmers in Leeds North West in the coming weeks."
