MP RENEWS CALL IN PARLIAMENT OVER SUPERTRAM 'LIMBO'12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Wed 26th Oct 2005 With speculation rife that a decision has been taken by senior government ministers on the planned Supertram scheme, but only communicated internally, Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, has renewed pressure on the government in Parliament to make any decision public. Greg has tabled urgent parliamentary questions to the Minister for Transport, Alistair Darling calling on him to make a public announcement by the end of the month, in five days time. Commenting on the government's inaction, Greg Mulholland said: "This is a disgraceful way to treat leaders of the city and continuing rumours are very unhelpful, keeping residents and developers in a state of limbo. "I have tabled urgent parliamentary questions demanding the government to come out and find the courage to give us a yes or no so everyone can move forward and ensure Leeds gets the modern transport system it deserves. "Developers may start pulling out of the whole project if negative signals or nothing at all continues to come from the government."
