GOVERNMENT ADVICE TO TEACHERS ON CHRISTMAS 'HUMBUG': MULHOLLAND12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 12th Dec 2005 Commenting on official advice to teachers that Father Christmas can be "terrifying" and pantomimes "too scary", local MP Greg Mulholland, said: "This Government advice should win a prize for the worst piece of political correctness this year. "First, we had ideas to re-brand Christmas as Winterval. Now we have Ministers wanting to ban Santa Claus. "Teachers across the country should cry 'humbug' and ignore this nonsense. "The Government should just leave our schools alone, and stop meddling in things they clearly don't understand."
