Greg Mulholland, MP for Leeds North West, has welcomed the news that the National Audit Office is to investigate whether the £39 million spent on Leeds Supertram was really an appropriate use of tax-payer's money.
Commenting, Greg said:
"This is indeed a matter that must be looked into and there are many questions that still need answering.
"This investigation will hopefully shed more light on the whole Supertram affair and also provide more information on the decisions that were made. The people of Leeds deserve answers.
"This inquiry may also unearth the huge spending inequalities between the south and areas in the North such as Leeds, which are simply unacceptable."
