LOCAL MP BACKS COFFEE MORNING FOR FISHING CHARITY

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 28th Nov 2006

Greg Mulholland Liberal Democrat MP for Leeds North West will on Thursday attend a coffee morning at 9.30 organized Bryan 's fish and chip shop in aid of the Royal Mission for Deep Sea Fishermen.

Fishing is the most dangerous major industry in Britain with on average six fishermen are killed or seriously injured every month. The Royal Mission for Deep Sea Fisherman which was founded 125 years ago provides financial support and counselling services to fisherman and their families.

The coffee morning was organised after the tragic death of four fishermen last month when their trawler 'The Meridian' sank 160 miles east of Aberdeen .

Greg said "I'm very pleased to be attending this coffee morning in support of such a worth cause.

The Royal Mission for Deep Sea Fisherman does a wonderful job in helping the fishing community and I am proud to be supporting them."
