LEEDS MP GREG MULHOLLAND APPOINTED TO LIBERAL DEMOCRAT HEALTH TEAM

12.00.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 17th Aug 2007

Greg Mulholland MP, Member of Parliament for Leeds North West, has joined the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Health Team. As a Shadow Health Minister he will take responsibility for a variety of subject areas including care for older people, under the Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb MP.

This appointment comes following Mr Mulholland's work on a number of health issues on a constituency level, such as the campaign to get plans for a dedicated Children's and Maternity Hospital back on track, campaigning for more access to NHS dentistry, and campaigning against the removal of facilities at the Wharfedale Community Hospital.

Commenting Greg said:

"I am delighted to be taking on a role in such an important area.

"I am passionate about health issues and this is an excellent opportunity to build on the work I have already done on key areas, such as hospital services, access to dentistry and retaining community health services.

"I look forward to working with my new colleagues and tackling the issues which matter so much to so many people."
